Buhay volunteer.
Kanina yung Quadricentennial Thanksgiving Mass ng UST. Isa nga pala ako sa mapapalad na napiling volunteers para tumulong sa misa kanina. Mukha nga akong tao eh - long sleeves with necktie with I.D. kasi ang suot ko. Waha. Actually, kagabi ko pa iniisip kung tutuloy pa ko kanina or hindi na, sa kabutihang palad, napagpasyahan ko na tumuloy. Wala lang. Kasi may mga friends din naman ako na kasama dun kaya okay lang.
I’ll never regret na nagvolunteer ako para sa mass kanina. There were actually a lot of people pa din, they even invited students from other schools since it was a Papal Mass. Nandun yung Papal Legate, Master of the Order of Preachers, Chancellor and Vice Chancellor of UST, Archbishop of Manila, the entire CBCP, Dominican priests and nuns, religious people from other orders, Spanish ambassador to the Philippines, government official from Spain, almuni from all over the world and the entire Thomasian community.
Simula pa lang, negenjoy na ko kasi ako yung naglagay ng mass guide sa chair nung Master of the Order of Preachers, Chancellor and Vice Chancellor of UST, Archbishop Rosales and sa Papal Legate. Pero ang pinakanaenjoy ko na part is yung lighting of candles. Kaming mga volunteers yung may hawak ng torch na iiikot so that each and every candle will be lighted. Ang sarap lang ng feeling kasi isa ako sa mga 100 volunteers na napiling humawak nung torch. Inikot pa namin yung buong grandstand and I was even surprised with the manner we did it, which was kaming 100 volunteers, nakabuo ng one straight line kahit na ibaiba yung way namin, to think na hindi naman namin napractice yung part na yun.
Wala lang. Ang saya ko lang dahil sa mass kanina. Ahihi. Pero back to reality na next week. QWeek’s oveeeeeeeeer.
